Thai Open Transit is an open, versioned and time-aware dataset of Thailand's rail transit network, with an interactive map that proves the data works. It starts with Bangkok and its metropolitan region (Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani) and is now in public beta.

### The dataset

- 192 stations, 187 segments and 10 lines: Airport Rail Link, BTS Sukhumvit, Silom and Gold, MRT Blue, Purple, Pink and Yellow, and SRT Dark Red and Light Red
- Time-aware: every station and segment keeps its history, so you can see the network as it was in any year
- Every fact carries a source, and data without one fails validation
- Free to download as JSON, GeoJSON or CSV

### The map

- Search stations in Thai or English, by station code or by an old code
- Show or hide each line, with light and dark map themes
- A year slider to watch the network grow over time
- Find your location by GPS and the nearest open station. Your location never leaves the browser
- Thai and English interface

### Built with

- Next.js static export, with no database behind the public site
- MapLibre GL on a self-hosted Protomaps basemap
- A Bun monorepo
- Open licences: code under AGPL-3.0, data under ODbL-1.0

### Coming next

- Shareable as\_of permalinks that open the network at any date
- A schematic (diagram) map mode
- Offline use as a PWA, for underground stations with no signal
