Stroke Rehabilitation (Rehab) is an interactive physical therapy web app built by Bangkok University's Center of Specialty Innovation. It helps stroke patients and people with neurological conditions regain movement, by pairing vision AI that tracks the body through a webcam with games and exercises designed with physiotherapists.
The AI
- MediaPipe pose estimation finds the body's joints in every webcam frame
- Joint angles are measured in real time, to steer the game and check posture
- No special sensors: an ordinary webcam is enough
For patients
- Pick a rehabilitation program by the movement to practice, such as bending the elbow
- Play games like Stroke Runner, steered by moving in front of a webcam instead of pressing buttons
- The camera tracks each movement in real time and gives feedback on posture
- Difficulty adjusts to each patient's condition and results
- Every session is recorded, with its history and statistics
- Works at the hospital or at home
For doctors and physiotherapists
- See every patient under their care and all of their activity
- Open any session to watch the recorded movement next to its chart
- Plan therapy from measurable progress, with advice sent through the app
Results
- Patients regained mobility 25% faster
- Run with one partner hospital
- Physical outcomes evaluated by the medical team
Built with
- MediaPipe and OpenCV
- Unity
- Node.js and TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- Prisma and MySQL
